Arya Samaj – A religion, community or establishment?

Arya Samaj was established by Swami Dayanand Saraswati in 1875 with the inspiration of Swami Virajanand of Mathura in Bombay Kakadwadi. The rules and principles of Arya Samaj are for the welfare of the people - the main purpose of this society is to give thanks to the world, namely physical, spiritual and social advancement. It believes in pure Vedic tradition and rejects idol worship, incarnation, sacrifice, false rituals and superstitious beliefs. It opposes untouchability and caste discrimination and gave women and Shudras the right to wear sacrificial rites and read Vedas. The motto of the Arya Samaj is VarnamantraVishwaMarma, which means - make the world Arya. There are many Arya samaj mandir in Bharatpur where one can know and learn more about Arya Samaj
Principles of Arya Samaj
The word Arya means superior and progressive. Therefore, Arya Samaj means superior and progressive society, who tries to follow the Vedas favorably. Maharishi Dayanand laid the foundations of Arya Samaj to re-establish the same Vedas. All theories and rules of the Arya Samaj are based on the Vedas. Arya Samaj believes in the worship of the true God; that God is omnipresent like air and sky, does not embody avatar, that gives results to all human beings according to their deeds and gives the next birth.
According to this, the duty of every Arya to perform the daily sacrifice is the duty. The original text of the Arya Samaj is as Pratishtha and other honorable texts - Vedas, Upanishads, Shadow Darshan, Geeta and Valmiki Ramayana etc. Maharishi Dayanand has given the essence of all these in Satyam Prakash.
